Apologies as this has probably been asked before but I cant find the thread. Is there a cheap way of finding out sold prices? It seems to be $10 a go on qv. I know that you can buy in to some packages but they seem to be for professional/full time REA's or traders. I just wanted to look at sold prices for about half a dozen properties last year in the town where I have some ips. I could email the agents but not sure I'd have any luck, is there a cheapish way to do this? Cheers.

look at the bottom of trademe ads for 3 recent sales in that area

    in this example

    kaiti in gisborne

    http://www.trademe.co.nz/property/re...-836383337.htm

change the search boxes to the left from gisborne to the city you are interested in

and change the suburb from kaiti to the suburb you want

    http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Cate...ch_suggested=0

do that for about 5? properties for sale in the local area and enter on to a spreadsheet the addresses and what they sold for

then use the council site to look up the most recent rateable valuations

then work out what % the sales price differed from the valuation price to get an idea of what's happening
    have you defeated them?
