  • Decramastic Tile Cladding

    Hi there

We are looking at purchasing a house, and it has Decramatic Tile over weatherboard cladding on the exterior. Does anyone know the cost of painting decramastic tile for a 100 sq m house. How would this compare to the cost of painting a regular weatherboard home?

Decramastic tiles are a roofing tile? Do you have this on a wall or are you meaning something else?

Hi there, it has weatherboard underneath, and it feels like tile. The feeling is metalic with grit covering it.

The product is probably CASTLE WALL. It is very like a decromastic tile in appearance but a lot longer in sheet size and was made specifically for cladding walls. Popular in the early seventies as a way to modernize the look of your weatherboard home. Rough surfaces generally are harder to paint and use more paint so will probably cost more than weatherboards to paint. Sometimes these surfaces are sprayed as it is easy to get the paint into all the tiny gaps around the stone finish.

Looked at a house with this on the walls today. Had been painted to make it look more modern, but it still looks pretty average to me.

A bit off-topic: can someone recommend a company to re-coat/re-paint a decramastic tile roof in Auckland? I mean, re-paint and also add chips while repainting.

What would be a reasonable cost for a 85sqm unit (with proper eaves)?
