  • ANZ ditching National Bank brand

    http://www.interest.co.nz/news/61307...over-two-years

They're claiming the only job losses will be 200 IT staff. We have 2 ANZ branches and 1 NB branch in the Whangarei CBD. There's no way they will keep all the staff. I'm sure it will be similar elsewhere.

Hmm had a phone call a couple of days ago by National just checking in, I managed to get 4.95% for 1 year out of them with less than 20% equity.

      Pretty harsh conditions....perhaps.
No wonder ANZ is sending the black horse to the knackers yard.

      Re your reply below.
If I was asking for a 20% LVR loan I'd be wanting less than 4.95% interest.

They don't want to keep me as a customer, because the best they will offer me is 5.7%. So I'm looking around...

I know its tough on those who lose their jobs but businesses have the right to be profitable.

Their return on equity is less than it was pre GFC.
Possibly didn't want to pay the Lloyds TSB fee which was up for renewal in 2014.

"please can I have a discount because I like the colour green better than blue"

certainly worth a shot but honestly who cares.

                              Oh dear.
At the time those comments were made, we were unaware of Cody's sad passing," Stefan Herrick of ANZ said yesterday.
