You make a number of fair points; it sounds like the implementation of the compulsory pension policy is far from perfect in Australia. I would prefer a system where I could choose my investments as well. Of course, I agree that the pension providers should be able to give real time prices.
Irrespectively, in my view, Australia’s compulsory pension with individual accounts is a much superior system to New Zealand’s unfunded universal superannuation.
