Goodbye First Homeowners Grant

Well, this is a bold move - the scrapping of the first homeowner grant. I get the impression this is a short term move to priortise social housing development beyond 2025 until 2027. What is saved by the FHB grant is almost what's required for just 1500 social housing homes.

Cannon fodder for the left.

The Government can gift $2.9 billion in tax cuts to landlords but can't fork out a few bucks to first home buyers.

^^ Yeah - what's the bet they reinstate it before the end of their term.

Whatever action they take - "they are damned if they do and damned if they don't" - best to have no-fear and just go for it.

They'll be hoping for a much-improved economy nearer the next election, though, so they can claim it as their own doing. Otherwise, it will be curtains for them as one-term wonders, aye.
