Wow that's nothing like the rates on interest.co.nz (ANZ missing from there?) or the ANZ website.
We are high equity baby boomers who still have one outside income, I think that helps.
But just saying, just sharing what's out there, trying to give something back.
I am in the process of lending more from one of the banks I deal with and they are going to match the above rates for me. Just be open and talk with your bank. I don't say I heard it from a PI website I say I know of people that are in a similar situation to me and want the same rates. I always put this in writing to my bank manager so they have the ability to go to the credit department to get a better rate than they can do them selves.
We did the same Kiwi. In fact our banker kept saying he only had authority to 3 points so we said well send it to someone who has more authority. He was quite happy to do so just took 2 extra days. I think they have "see if you can get rid of them" built into the lower echelons.
Does anyone else feel a bit crap posting rates they are offered?
I mean hey they are only banks and not loyal to anyone except themselves, they aren't individuals. The bankers change jobs, move on, they don't care.
But are the rates offered to us in confidence?
I just noticed on my profile a PaulANZ had just viewed it, does that sound like someone from ANZ?
Hey Paul, I am sorry, in case you work out who I am, please keep being nice - remember I am staying and not taking that fat cashback I was offered elsewhere...
(actually it wasn't Paul, someone else, but you get the gist, just trying to be discreet)
They aren't confidential, why would you even think that way. Hell they make more money than God, we have to band together and get the best deals we can. Do you feel bad when you get a free magazine from APIA or a discount at Bunnings?
Come on man, be a kiwi :-)
I feel a bit naughty posting rates I am offered... until I see the smarter chaps on here posting their better rate offers (at which point I realise I am being screwed)!!
I should ask how big was the loan you are requesting?
This one only 700k but total with this bank over 3m.
Only buying since 2010. Wellington prices have done... exactly nothing. Sideways for the past eight years, not even with a dip ( don't count a 3 percent drop) not even a dip to do some buying.
Actually I am happy with the portfolio.
But when I look at the buying we did, all 2010 to 2013, I can't believe our... there's no word for it... kamikaze springs to mind.
Makes me realise how much luck is involved.
Not saying we didn't do things well, but there is certainly luck as well - timing risk and all that, buying a whole lot all at once not good practice.
We did already have one rental from 2002 that had been our family home.
