Hi all,
I purchased a residence in west akld in late November 13 at auction agent was LJ. No building report was done! The previous owners had built the house and lived in it for 40 odd years. About three weeks after moving in my wife noticed a water stain on the ceiling and that the ceiling panels in that area are different from the rest of the ceiling. I thought at the time that previous owners being elderly and who have been there all their lives they would have fixed the issue that caused the stain. With the downpour we have had today it is obvious that the problem has not been fixed.
I was under the impression that when it came to watertightness sellers have to disclose wether the buyer asks or not. I also know B&T were make sellers sign stating no leaks and possibly Harcourts do too. Does anyone know if LJ also gets sellers to sign something similar? And has anyone have some advice as to what to do from here? Can anyone recommend a lawyer if thats what the general consensus is?
Thanks in advance.
