I've seen all sorts. Some whose money just slips through their fingers. Others who have an iron grip on it. Some who budget carefully - some succeed; some don't. Others who just appear to have an intuition for their financial position. Despite that, some succeed, some don't. I once knew a guy who was the GM of a company, yet he told me he didn't even have a cheque book. He said that was because because he didn't trust himself and having cash gave him a clear idea of where he was. Seemed incongruous.
