Hi all, am wanting some thoughts regarding the quality (and experiences) with Dulux v Resene exterior paints. We are wanting to paint the exterior of our weatherboard house and have found a Dulux colour we really like. Unfortunately our painter has said the quality of Dulux paints has turned to custard recently and we should only use Resene. Is this true? Or is it more likely he just wants to use Resene for cost/account/incentive purposes?
I have done some googling and it seems lots of people are Dulux fans however the posts I have read are 3-4 years old. Some UK residents have complained about Dulux paints in the past year or so, however are we likely to be getting the same product as the UK?
Lastly, we have put a range of different colours from both Resene and Dulux on the weatherboards to try to pick the 'right' colour. The Dulux paints are noticeably thicker and leave a better finish than the Resene (which are streaky and thin even after 2 coats and look like they need a 3rd/4th coat?). Can we read much into that? Or are the exterior paints a different quality to the test pots?
Thanks!
