Hi all, MBIE are permanently busy so I hoped you may be able to help.
I've been in my current Akl rental for nearly two years, paid rent on time every week and kept the house and garden in top condition. I'm planning to move out in two months and asked LL procedure for notice, return of deposit etc. Turns out he hadn't lodged my bond as he should have done, his reason being "because it doesn't pay interest". I asked him if he could lodge it now, and he flat out refused, citing the same reason.
What would my best course of action be now, to ensure that I get the bond back? Him and his son are dodgy AF, and I've heard tales of them threatening violence to tenants who don't pay on time or commit some other sin, so it's not too hard to imagine us with our stuff in the van and him refusing to hand cash over, thus screwing up our move and new job.
Thanks
