NZ has probably the world's most flexible / loose drivers teaching system, and we don't need any further relaxation to the law!
In China, drivers classes are compulsory for all drivers, cost ranging between $1000-2000 NZD to get to full license.
In NZ, drivers can be self taught, and go on the road pretty much straight away.
This puts so many risks onto other drivers on the road.Last edited by PTILoveYou; 17-06-2015, 02:17 PM.

To keep fining people without any change in behaviour defeats any purpose - the fines accumulate to a level where you might as well carry on - $400 fine or $4000, can't pay either so WTF.
If you reviewed everyone driving without a license the 'project' would soon bog down and achieve nothing (assuming this does achieve something).
Also mention in the article was that they get the fine if they don't do the course.
Be interesting to see if there are real results but I am always open to trying to achive a gain rather than the same action without any change.

Iwi are taking Govt to Court over the land being sold for Social housing why can't they tender like every other organisation.
Also what I don't really get is this generation of Maori is being paid out for a generation years ago (with little compensation for the benefits provided under colonisation to them) what happen in the many years to come when the money is long gone and they are feeling disadvantaged where does it stop?

But it is cheaper to pay out all the tribal claims etc now, rather than in the future.
Selling the crown land to Iwi won't solve any housing problems. Iwi will just turn them into leasehold land, or build to provide for their own whanau
