Hi I'm considering underfloor insulation for one of my properties that has underfloor aluminium foil above the joists. It's a 2004 house, particle board floors.
I got two quotes - one company suggests leaving the alu foil in place because (they say) it acts as a moisture barrier. The other company recommends removing the alu foil because (they say) it could reduce the efficiency of the insulation by leaving an air gap above the foil.
Now I'm confused. I'm inclined to leave it there but .. what do you think?
