We are lucky to live in countries where someone who is not born wealthy is able to have a good crack at becoming wealthy. I have been reading a lot of Australian Property Investor magazines while being laid up with a crook knee (currently living in Oz) and most of the stories about portfolio building are about people who worked hard, saved some money & got started in various ways. Several had parental help or similar, but most didn't and a lot are in normal jobs. Here, a lot of the stories are about immigrants who arrived with nothing. Inspiring.

Fairness or equality in income is not fair to those who work hard and are prepared to make sacrifices to get ahead.
