    Hi all, is it recommended to have a building inspection done on a basic concrete block industrial unit (approx 100m2) before purchase?

      Thanks for your reply. Mid 70s I think. I guess the only thing that could go wrong is the roof might leak, but at least concrete block won't rot!

        Ah, that is quite old. If it was me buying it, I would want to know if it was pre or post 1976 cause the seismic code got upgraded a lot then apparently.

        Are you sure it's tilt slab and not blocks? If it is blocks, and pre 1976, then you need a seismic report I reckon.

          in addition to davo;
          does the roof need replacing in near future?
          internal gutters?
          Any cladding apart form blocks. Was it permitted? What does approved use allow for?

            Excellent advice thank you both.

            Interesting things seem to be happening in the Auckland commercial market at the moment. Used to be very stable and predictable but now not so much.
