Hi there
My partner and I are seeking advice from those with propertyknowledge…
Unfortunately (due to inheritance) we suddenly have a large sum of cash to potentially use asdeposit for our first home. Our worry is that if we buy now we could be buying at the ‘height’ of the market (we are in AKLD). If there is to be a crash/correction we may "waste" the largesum of money. We are very worried about using it right as it is half (brotherhas other half) of my dads entire life savings and we want to do it justice if that makes sense?? Should we bite the bullet and buy now? we are thinking of houses around $650 - 700K (would give us just over 50% equity) or invest it a term deposit, rental property or something else? What would you do?
Other info
- Looking at North Shore/Rodney as bothhusband and I work in Albany.
- I have 11K Kiwisaver I could use as well
- We have no debt
- We earn combined about 95K before tax.
- We currently rent
thanks so much in advance
Madison
