I had a builder around, but he wanted to see the plans first, so he didn't measure, or anything, didn't ask me about cladding choices, or how many windows, etc, I'd have, but he said it'll probably be around $30,000.
I really wanted to spend less on this (obviously, who wouldn't) as this will basically cost me almost my entire savings that I had left over from the sale of my old house, but if $5,750 is a fair charge for the Draughtsman, then that's it.
It'll just be a concrete floor, retaining wall and 3 exterior walls, there won't be any GIB on the inside, just bare studs and joists, no electrical or plumbing either.
I'm not planning on selling this house for a couple decades, at the moment I just need somewhere to put all of my things that are clogging my house, such as tools and other bits and pieces I have no place for, so if I have to, I can further minimise the work I get done for the place.
If I have to, I'll just have the floor and retaining wall done and I'll just nail up some temporary plywood for the other three walls, with a small door in it.
Dude, you're not going to do this for anything like $30k. It will be much much more.
$30k is a bit light, but I don't think it's far off. S8-10k for the slab work, then framing and cladding. It's likely to be $5-10k for the drawings & consent, that's perhaps the possible spanner in the budget.

What about doors? Windows? Paint, floor covering, curtains, electrical outlets, the ceiling and a bunch more stuff?
But anyway, get it done ryanstev and then tell us how much it cost.
