Look at the top 3 choices - none stand out and none of them will succeed I feel - it will be more of the same - as I said Labour need to change it up big time and go for the young rising star in Jacinda - let her experience the Election next year and the following term as Opposition Leader before taking it off National in the following term. Labour under any of those men will just keep handing it to National every time.
cheers,

I am glad someone mentioned Banks name.
As I was struggling to remember who the Act Party's leader was, they have self destructed into oblivion.
The main thing for all NZ, no matter who you support, is to give National enough seats to rule alone, or we will all be stuck with that Pontificating Buffon Peters as King Maker slash Court Jester.
The the whole country will be held to ranson....... AGAIN !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Banks was the only MP who voted against animal testing of synthetic canabinoids so he won lots of brownie points.Email Sign Up - New Discussions, Monthly Newsletter, About PropertyTalk

Green and animal welfare are 2 different things NovInvestor...
I have voted for Act in the past, but they've just proven to be a bunch of idiots who keep shooting themselves in the foot.
Regarding Labour, last time the leadership issue came up, National really wanted Cunliffe in. Why? Because he's such an arrogant, nasty piece of work that he'll alienate a lot of people and play right into National's hands.Squadly dinky do!

I was probably going to do just that, but not so sure now.
Never have liked people telling me how to vote.
Probably something to do with what my Grandfather got up to early last century.

The smart money at this stage is on a Robertson-Cunliffe ticket as leader and deputy respectively. But it is not clear whether Mr Cunliffe will accept that'

More of the same - only different. NZ politics is more
a charade than any form of governance.
All Consigned to Tombs is about right for the dance party.
Given the degree of disillusionment, perhaps the 1law4all
people are in with a chance to replace the "no baubles
and trinkets of power" ex-Treasurer as power balancers?
Call For Rotorua To Be Run By Maori
Rotorua should be run by Maori, a woman standing for election as mayor of the city says.
Janine Bosma said she would like to see Rotorua District Council replaced by a Te Arawa Tribal Council.
But she would not say how she thought Pakeha electors might be represented under that arrangement.
Ms Bosma is up against stiff competition for the mayoralty: the other candidates are incumbent Kevin Winters,
former Labour MP Steve Chadwick, Helen Hindmarsh and Rob Kent.

Who cares!!!!!!!
The current Labour leadership contest, involving its MPs, activists and unions, will very likely decide the next prime minister.
Every informed analysis indicates that the next election is Labour’s to lose.
Even under David Shearer’s unfortunate leadership, the average of all polls – which historically have tended to slightly overestimate National’s support – have suggested an election too close to call between National and the Labour/Green-led bloc.
