I think the tech throws up a whole lot of new paradigms.

eg: If I can build a head that can print 'dial-a-carbon' can I make diamonds of any size?

If a head can print the elements that make up gold, if I add extreme heat, can I make gold?

so far we have been able to make tiny industrial cutting diamonds
