Have you seen those cutting edge electronic printers? Rather than squirting a micro controlled ink jet they squirt a jet of a compound that can be built up, the print head rises to accommodate the rising structure.
I've seen the tech doing little stuff. eg: a head laying down a variety of latexes and making an exact functioning replica of my heart.
Recently I was shown this tech on a large scale.
Set up a gantry over a poured concrete slab and a computer controlled head can lay a cement compound with each computer contolled pass.
It equates to a lock-up house requiring finishing that an owner could do, built in half a day.
Cali Uni have been working on it. At the beginning of this short vid is footage of small stuff. (This is how the custom plumbing etc could be created for the super-structure.) Stick with the vid. It shows animated footage of house building with a printer.
The house in the vid is bland. It's showing the tech. The same system can build houses that incorporate compound curves. eg: a room the shape of a bow of a boat. Designers would have a field day.

How do you think we will be building houses in 50 years?
