  • One for the Employment Lawyers

    Hi all,

    I have a bit of a situation.

Signed an employment contract which stated that any training would be paid by the company, however after completion of that training i would be bonded for one year. If i were to leave within that year then it would be pro-rata.

I have been working for the company for a year now and have just commenced the training. Shortly following the commencement of the training i was given a set if 'terms and conditions' that stated that i would be bonded for 2 years after completion! I have not signed off on the terms and conditions as it was not required.

The way i see it, if they consider it to be a variation of the contract, i cannot see there being any further consideration being offered - I wouldnt consider continuation of my position further consideration.

    Would appreciate any advice.

    Thanks
