  • Why online marketing fails house sellers

Listing properties online is not as successful as advertising in traditional print mediums, according to a leading estate agent.

Harcourts' New Zealand CEO Hayden Duncan says Harcourts' experiments with dedicated online marketing campaigns show they are less successful in selling properties than a campaign using print, such as the Property Press, and online mediums.

I think what he's saying is that 'online only' fails in comparison to 'online and print'

Everybody under 40 only uses online advertising to get a 'short list'. If you are not on trademe, you don't want to sell! Of course, we are also the ones who use googlemaps to fnid out if there is a power pylon on the front lawn before wasting our time....

Poorly written article - the opening is not expanded upon in the body and there is no conclusion. While its starts out online vs print & online marketing - after the opening the body of the article is about 'who thinks which site is better for listings - Trade Me or Realestate.co.nz'. And as mentioned there is no conclusion.

Quite surprising NBR would have such a poorly constructed article on their site.

        cheers,

        Donna
