But what if all the other rag tag lot
have more seats than the gNats?
The number of seats isn't that important, if those holding them do not use them to form a coalition.
Or are you suggesting ACT would go into coalition with the greens for example ?
A bill is not presented without the votes tied up before hand.
However in practical terms with our current parties who are likely to hold a seat it doesn't happen.
There will be enough pre election commitments from parties such as ACT, United, Conservative ; so it is likely only NZF will be the unknown.
The Labour documents say immigration tended to be "pro-cyclical, with higher net inwards migration coinciding with strong local economic conditions".
Labour was open to investigating whether that cycle could be reversed - letting more immigrants into New Zealand when the economy was weaker, and tightening controls during high-growth periods.
so labour are considering trying to entice the best migrants to come at the bottom of nz's economic cycle, when the few jobs are hard to get
and keep them out when business is booming and hiring
If they have a job contract, signed and sealed which is audited and approved by immigration then in they come.
If there is no vacancy for them to fill, they don't get in.
It's not as if NZ has a shortage of people applying....a demand that I can't see anything but increasing.
The migration to Aussie is going to take a BIG slump when their next budget measures start to bite.
It's going to be a doozie.
Bust those job scams as exposed by Campbell Live about 2 months ago.
