MONEY, MONEY, MONEY: Can the secret to financial success be found in the pages of a book?

Money books are awesome! They tend to have bright covers, punchy titles, exclamation marks (You Are Going to be Rich!) and chart an easy course to financial liberation and ultimately Jed Clampett-like wealth.
While most of us won't strike an oil well in the backyard and move to Beverly Hills, there are steps you can take to improve your financial literacy.
Books can be a good place to start, but steer clear of those which over-promise - they are bound to under-deliver.
I asked some Kiwis with business or money nous which money books they recommended and why they thought the book was a good yarn.
Xero CEO Rod Drury replied that cheque books are the only good money books, "especially other people's when they are writing them to you".
Another respondent, Martin Hawes, can claim bragging rights as one of his books, Shares: 7 Secrets of Making Moneyfon the Sharemarket, is the number one selling financial book on MightyApe.co.nz.
But what money book did Hawes recommend you get stuck into? Clue: It's not one of his own.
